As host of the Olympic Winter Games 2006 and home of the football club Juventus, Turin gained worldwide fame as a sports town. Maybe the factory buildings of a famous Italian car brand will come to some peoples' mind if they think of Turin. But only a few people know that the capital of Piedmont has to offer many interesting tourist sites. Turin's landmark is the Mole Antonelliana, once planned as a synagogue, but today a museum. Within the Cathedral San Giovanni (15th century) you can find the Shroud of Turin, with an alleged imprint of a Jesus. Other attractions are the Lingotto Building, formerly the largest car factory of the world and the residences of the dynasty Savoyen.
