Tel Aviv
Tel Aviv, originally called Tel Aviv-Yafo, is the second largest city in Israel and is situated on the Israeli Mediterranean coastline. If you fly with Austrian Airlines to Tel Aviv, you can expect arriving in a major economic hub and the richest city in Israel. It is the country's financial capital, however, it also offers a major performing arts center. With over 1.5 million foreign tourists visiting every year, Tel Aviv is a magnet for worldwide tourism and is often compared by some to Barcelona and Miami Beach. Tel Aviv is known for its liberal atmosphere, it is an accepting city especially for lesbians, gays and bisexual. Therefore, it is also sometimes called 'the gay capital of the Middle East.'
