Becoming Albania’s capital in 1920, Tirana is a beautiful place with many universities, and is the center of economical, political and cultural life. The port of Durres is 36km from the capital. You can catch a ferry there to places such as Greece or Poland! While in Tirana, you can find your way around town with the public bus system or get a ride from a taxi.
